The grounds include many beautiful trees and plants. A willow tree welcomes you to the property, under which you can park your car. The original farm included fruit orchards; some cherry and plum trees still remain, as well as walnut trees and grapevines. Lavender grows very well in Chez Mathieu, and huge bushes are scattered throughout the grounds, giving the air a calming, fresh scent.
